high five for friday

Happy Friday, peeps!
How's your week been?
 Cup of Tea
Mine's been pretty good - quite often I struggle to think of five highlights but this week is overflowing
(despite the fact I've not blogged so far this week and it's Friday, sorry #musttryharder)...

1 | Got my boy back from his week-long Scout Camp on Saturday and he returned with a new friend for me from his day trip to Woburn Safari Park; everyone, meet Sid the Giraffe :)

2 | Hubs and I enjoyed a spontaneous date night on Monday, which all started with Debenhams having up to 60% off sofas. We ventured into town to have a look but didn't end up buying a sofa and instead I treated myself to a new waterproof coat and Hubs bought some new trainers. We then headed to Nando's for dinner :)

3 | To continue the trend of eating out on school work nights, I caught up with my bestie (who I've not seen since May!) on Tuesday night; we enjoyed some delicious tapas and caught up on the past few months. Hopefully we won't leave it quite so long next time!

4 | I can barely contain my excitement for this next highlight, which has actually yet to happen; later today, at approximately 3pm, Hubs and I are going to see the inside of our new home for the first time ever - EEEKK!!
Our new house, as it was on Monday 10th August :)
It's not 100% finished, but we will get a great sense of the space we're buying and how we might live in it; I could literally burst with excitement.

5 | It's a three-day weekend (and we all know they're the best kind), so Hubs and I have a car boot, house shopping and family time planned; I'm gonna enjoy every second.

Have a good one, whatever you do!

high five for friday

Happy Friday, blogland!
How's your week been? Mine's not been too bad, pretty quiet and uneventful, so I think I am seriously
going to struggle to come up with five highlights, but I'll give it a shot...

1 | Last weekend I pretty much spent the entire time at my parents' house and I had a great time. Isn't it funny how you don't really wanna spend time with your parents when you're a teenager, but something happens when you move out and you then love spending time with them, well, that's what happened for me :)

2 | My blogging bestie, the gorgeous Kelly, got engaged on Sunday - feel free to hit her up and wish her well :)

3 | I started back to work on Monday after two weeks off, but we've moved into new offices and they are luxury compared to our old rented ones!

4 | I ordered these wellies on Tuesday and they were delivered to me this morning:
I'd had my eye on them for ages, but they've been out of stock in my size. I'm so glad I've got them and I am secretly hoping for some rain at the weekend so I can d├ębut them ;)

5 | Hubs comes back from Scout Camp tomorrow and I cannot wait to see him :) I've missed him heaps!

Have a great weekend!

moor fun

Located between between Ilkley and Keighley, Ilkley Moor is a beautiful area of Yorkshire.

Last Thursday, Hubs, his youngest sister, her boyf and I headed to Ilkley Moor to trek the seriously steep climbs and admire the breathtaking views...
The moor forms part of the South Pennine Moors Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), as well as part of the South Pennine Moors Special Protection Area (SPA) and Special Area of Conservation (SAC). If you'd like to visit, then you can find out more about the moor and the numerous walks that can be enjoyed here.

Happy Hump Day!

a-maze-ing

Last Tuesday, during our week off work, Hubs and I decided to head to a local maize maze with Hubs' sister,
our five-year-old nephew and Hubs' ten-year-old god-daughter.

We had a fantastic day and the weather was beautiful; we couldn't have asked for a better day exploring the three miles of pathways through the eight-acre maze that's planted in a different design each year. As Leicester is hosting three Rugby World Cup games later this year, the maze is in the shape of a rugby-player this year:

Situated amongst some of south Leicestershire's most beautiful countryside, Wistow Maze really does offer a fantastic day out, away from the stresses and strains of everyday life...
Seriously, these two! *insert heart-eye emoji here*
Not only is there a maze, but there's also a fantastic play area for kids of all ages, and over the road, there's Wistow Rural Centre, which boasts a cafe, a few shops, a garden centre and a model village.

Like I said, it's a great day out for all, an no, no-one has paid me to say this; I honestly had a great day and wanted to encourage as many of my Midlands-based readers to visit before it's too late (for this year at least)!

high five for friday

Happy Friday, peeps :)
So, how has your week been? Here are the highlights from mine...

1 | We had an appointment with our solicitor on Monday to sign some paperwork for the new house; sadly it wasn't contracts but fingers crossed we'll be signing those babies soon. After our appointment we stopped by to see the house, and it looks as if the walls have been plastered and the kitchen and bathrooms are being fitted - eeekk!

2 | As Hubs and I have been off work this week, on Tuesday we headed to Wistow Maze and had a blast, with Hubs' sister, our five-year-old nephew and Hubs' ten-year-old goddaughter
I'm gonna blog about it next week, but if you have a maze locally to you, check it out because it was heaps of fun!

3 | On Wednesday, we headed up north to see Hubs little sister in Leeds; it was great to spend some time with her and her boyf and to see their new house.

4 | Before heading home from Leeds, we took a trip on Thursday to Ilkley Moor, which offered some fantastic views, even if I did admire them from a safer distance than my companions

5 | I'm back at work on Monday, so I'm going to attempt to make the most of the next three days, although the current miserable weather isn't doing much to boost my motivation!

Have a great weekend!
